USF2000
Cooper Tire Official Tire and Presenting Sponsor
Cooper Tire is the presenting sponsor and exclusive tire supplier of the "Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship powered by Mazda". The USF2000 serves as an entry-level, open-wheel training ground for the next generation of professional racers looking for the first step on the ladder to an IndyCar career. For more than 20 years, USF2000 has earned its reputation as the entry-level pro series of choice in North America for career-minded, open-wheel drivers.
Sanctioned by IndyCar, the USF2000 is one of only two series that are part of both the IndyCar's Road to Indy ladder system and the MAZDASPEED Motorsports driver development program.
Cooper provides both slick and rain tires co-branded COOPER/USF2000 for the series' entrants. Up to three sets of tires will be available for purchase per car at each race event, and up to four sets of tires per car will be available at official test dates. Cooper will provide trackside mounting service and tire engineering support at each race and official test.
The company will also present the winner of each race's Pole Position with a check for $500.
The 2013 season for the series will offer a schedule of events that includes road courses, street circuits and oval speedways, all geared towards training young drivers on all three types of circuits.
In September 2012, the USF2000 series announced the return of the popular Cooper Tires Winterfest - a six-race mini-series offering drivers and teams a head start on their 2013 campaigns. Two premier Florida circuits will once again play host to the third annual pre-season championship which will take place in early February 2013.
